V1 – The Bible brings liberation that greatly overpowers / Opposing systems of thought like ominous thunder showers / It’s divinely inspired and many people chose to quote it / Even though some of their lives disrespect the One who wrote it / The Bible is God’s infallible Word of truth and authority / Unfortunately, the scripture’s not embraced by the majority / And that’s sad because it’s always a #1 best seller / But the fruit from our lives are the #1 best teller / The Bible tells the story of sinful man / And the hope we have in Christ Jesus to be a part of God’s redemptive plan / It’s that truth that’ll grip your heart / Sin gotcha? Man, that Word will straight rip you apart / It’s for everyone, even those who’ve never heard of God / You can be set free once you heed the Word of God / God’s heart, God’s thoughts, God’s Revelation / God breathed inspiration to every nation
Hook: God decreed THE WORD, so we need THE WORD / Since we need THE WORD, we goin’ read THE WORD / But we don’t just read THE WORD / The difference between hearing and doing is seen when you heed THE WORD
V2 – 100% truth 100% of the time / Saturated with God’s purpose, God’s glory, God’s mind / God’s Love for His creation is revealed in its pages / And that Love is a Rock that keeps us anchored through the ages / The Bible is the basis of civil liberties and social freedom / That’s why it cracks me up when people act like they don’t need Him / The same God they want to blaspheme and dismiss / Is found in the Word like a hidden gift at CHRISTmas / It contradicts men, that’s why folks don’t read it / But when you let it cut your heart, you won’t be living depleted / And yes you need it! But the Bible can’t cut / Where a heart is insulated like a cup from Starbucks / The Bible brings clarification to exactly who God is / And consciousness to the facts of who the True God is / The Bible could never mean what the Bible never meant / So we know the Bible’s legit when it tells man to repent
Spoken Word: Is your Bible starving for attention & suffering from loneliness? Is your inner man malnourished and suffering from spiritual neglect? Has your Bible put your picture on the side of a milk carton because it hasn’t seen you in an awfully long time? V3 – If you’re hungry for the Word, then it’s on! / ‘Cause man wasn’t made just to live on bread alone / Koinonia with the 3-in-1, your daily nourishment of truth / Satisfies, so there’s no need to give into your sweet tooth / It’s more than a mere book / The Bible works powerfully in those who believe in what it took / With no infomercials, no marketing or branding / It’s the concrete source of spiritual understanding / It’s TRUTH inerrant, TRUTH apparent / TRUTH from Father, so it’s TRUTH inherent / And this TRUTH from the pages is Jesus / So we don’t just read the Bible, we let the Bible read us / By crackin’ open the text to pursue their Christ / Certain people around the world could lose their life / But you and I have the chance to advance in the Son / So if you don’t own a Bible, holla at me I’ll get you one
