Hit the Road

V1 – I plead the Blood of Jesus over my life / And over my kids & over my wife / And over the work of my hands in ministry / he couldn’t attack God so then it’s me / But serving the Almighty is fabulous / the devil’s mad ‘cause he’s grabbin, but ain’t havin’ us / And he got the nerve to wanna pay a visit my house / Trying to kick up dust between me & my spouse / Sowing the seed of discord, but we’re calling on the LORD / ‘cause trouble on the homefront is something we can not afford / satan is often heard, never seen / At home, we claim Joshua 24:15
Hook: I serve Christ, so I have no fear / The devil is a lie, God’s always near / Since you gotta know the truth, I’ll say it loud & clear / you ain’t gotta go home, but you gotta get up outta here! / Hit the Road jack, don’t come back no more / you’re not welcome, you’ve over extended your stay / and that’s why we’re given you the boot like UNGH!
V2 – I told the enemy to leave, but he didn’t believe / Trying to conjure up another scheme from under his sleeve / Yeah he left for a minute, I thought that was the end / But he showed back up with 7 of his friends! / So now I’m facing spirits that are not like God / Trying to weigh me down and make life hard / But before I fall victim to the enemy’s trickery / God reminded me that I already got the victory! / So now I’m in the mix with Ephesians Chapter 6 / ‘cause when fightin’ in the spirit, I can’t use guns or sticks / I’ve got the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth / I’ve got the shield of faith, and my holy ghost steel toed boots / Which is my feet shod with the preparation / of the Gospel, next I’ve got the helmet of salvation / Got the sword of the spirit, I’ve also got prayer / So let’s be real, devil, you don’t wanna go there!

V3 – he’ll have your mind all twisted in a twirl / with sin lookin’ like “the most beautifullest thing in the world” / If you never say “devil, hit the road!”, I bet / He’ll always be around like the neighborhood stray pet / The devil doesn’t want you being edified / But Christ is glorified when you say “devil denied” / See the reason that He died is so when you collide / with the lies of the enemy, you won’t have to run & hide / Let the Truth of His Word put those lies on fire / Y’all ready know that the “devil is a liar!” / And even demons obey when we say His name / to not use it as a Christian is doggone shame / So next time that you feel the enemy’s trying to getcha / tell ‘em “let the door hitcha where the dog should of bit cha!” / I represent the Kingdom, so I never take a loss / Get to steppin’ cause my Jesus is “Off the Cross”!
