V1 – Have we become so used to our sin that it ceases to bother / Us anymore? To the point where we ignore the laws of the Father / No amount of prayer or struggle or even discipline / Can change our sin nature, so yep! you’d better listen friend / He took our shame upon Himself and even though He wept / The Spirit of God is why our sin nature’s kept / Nailed to the cross, Hail to the Boss, yes sir the King of the Jews / No longer ruled by the sinful nature that I used to choose / In plain daylight, the innocent sacrifice, took back my life / So people like me get the afterlife, wretched, no good people that laughed at Christ / My old nature wants to ignore its death certificate / Reminding me of who I used to be, but we ain’t kickin it / Been there, done that, don’t want to go back / Sin ain’t my friend, tell me whatcha know black / Deceitfulness telling me to go back / Like the crucifixion ain’t a known fact / The ugliness of sin brings the ugliness in / To the point where beautiful people look ugly within

Hook: There is redemption only through complete submission / To the truth about the blood of Jesus! / And the truth is this, the Christ in you exists / Because His blood is what frees us! / So, be set free! By the blood baby! / Be set free! By the blood baby! / Be set free! By the blood baby! / Be set free! By the blood baby!

V2 – When Christ took those nails to His feet and His hands / My sin also got crucified, no longer bound to its commands / And the demands being suggested had me living like a felon / Scorning God and His law, the epitome of rebellion / But hey, man’s inborn nature says to the Father “I hate ya” / And I’m foolishly willing to pay that eternal price / Willing to deny the healing which came from Christ’s killing / Even though, I’m in dire need for this sacrifice / Precious is the blood of the lamb, not just the blood of a man / But the blood of a King who would die so we could all be fam / Jointly fitted, unified ‘cause we accept the cost / Lost no longer ‘cause God’s wrath is satisfied in the cross / And even though the cross is God’s wrath made plain / We maintain ‘cause it’s really God’s love made plain / We’ve caused pain, so we really can’t complain / When over & over & over & over man, we do the same thang

V3 – You must acknowledge how revolting your sin nature is / Before you’ll let it die and let the Lord handle His biz / As you begin to grow in faith, you will no longer strive / To overcome sin by buying into cultural lies / Like “God knows my heart, I’m a good person, I’ve never killed nobody” / Hey here’s the truth, Christ is the proof, yes you have killed somebody! / Your sin manifested in the men that killed the Savior, yes the Son / Everyone is guilty, check out Acts 2:36-41 / But the good news is even though sin is ugly and destructive / God can take those things you did against Him and make it productive / Restore you to a place of honor, homie you can get with this / As long as there’s a willingness to crucify your sinfulness / This unspeakable privilege is available in spite of our murder of the divine / Lord, write Your will on my heart and impress it on my mind! / I’ll bear this cross, deny myself, I’ll go and serve Your people / Thank you for completing my redemption, even though I’m feeble.
