Like many young women, Stacey struggled to find her purpose in life. Growing up, though, she found success and happiness in sports, particularly basketball. She accomplished many feats during her basketball career, culminating in the form of a full athletic scholarship to Arizona State University. Still despite her many athletic achievements, she was spiritually barren. Her life was about goal-oriented excellence, and nothing she did fulfilled the desperate longings of her soul.

Finally after losing basketball and battling through personal turmoil, Stacey finally gave her everything to God. During this time, she penned the following poem entitled Nature’s Masterpiece.

“I stopped the other day to admire nature, and many of its gifts. I realized that they all have something in common in addition to their beauty. A pearl was formed from a grain of sand, sculptured by irritation into a masterpiece. Gold is a fine sparkling metal, but is hidden and can only be found through the determination of digging and searching. Diamonds are an exquisite and cherished stone that is mined through sheer effort to excavate a rare stone from an inflexible mountain. Then the mystery and beauty of a rainbow can only be witnessed after a dreary storm. Then I realize that every masterpiece that God has created in nature, and within me, will require struggle, determination, perseverance, and storms for it to emerge.”

From this time, Stacey emerged as God’s Masterpiece. Since then, she’s remained committed to using her borrowed gifts and talents to glorify God through ministry. She has served the Kingdom of God in many different capacities:

  • College tour with Athletes in Action and sharing her testimony at halftimes of basketball games all over the United States
  • Counselor and huddle coach with Fellowship of Christian Athletes
  • Assistant Coach for the WNBA’s Houston Comets during their first two championship seasons
  • Young Women’s Bible Teacher
  • Mentor young girls in basketball and helping them to reach their hoop dreams and their God given potential
  • Ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ in California and Texas to motivate young girls in their journey toward excellence

After years of being single, God revealed His personal promise of marriage to Stacey in the form of Malcolm. Their theme scripture is Song of Solomon 6:3, “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine”. Stacey and Malcolm were “joined at the hip” on May 8th. They are the proud parents of one son, Jaren and two daughters, Madison & Sydney. Through this ministry of marriage, God revealed to them that Joined at the Hip Ministries is to be a joint venture between this husband and wife ministry team.

“Woman was created from the rib of a man;
Not from his head to be thought of only,
Nor from his foot to be beneath,
But from under his arm to be protected
From his side to be equal,
And from his heart to be loved.”
